SSWAG President's Message
Erin Woodcock
2026 - 2027

Welcome to the School Social Workers Association of Georgia (SSWAG).

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as President of an organization dedicated to supporting the vital work of school social workers across our state. Each day, our members advocate for the academic success, mental health, and overall well-being of Georgia’s students, families, and school communities. Your commitment to this work is both inspiring and essential.
This year, our guiding theme is “Trust the Process.” In school social work, progress is not always immediate or linear. The impact we make often unfolds over time—through consistent support, data-informed interventions, relationship-building, and persistence. Trusting the process means recognizing that even when outcomes are not immediately visible, the work we do every day matters. It is grounded in evidence, driven by compassion, and sustained by our collective commitment to students.
At SSWAG, we are committed to strengthening our profession through collaboration, professional development, and advocacy. We strive to provide meaningful opportunities for connection, promote best practices, and elevate the role of school social workers as key leaders within educational systems. As the needs of our students continue to evolve, so must our approaches—and together, we are well-equipped to meet those challenges.
Whether you are a seasoned practitioner, a new professional, or exploring the field of school social work, we welcome you into this community. Your voice, your expertise, and your passion are what make this organization strong.
I encourage you to stay engaged—attend our events, participate in professional learning opportunities, and connect with colleagues across the state. As we move forward together, let us continue to trust the process, support one another, and remain focused on the long-term impact of our work.
Thank you for the work you do each day and for being a part of SSWAG.
With appreciation,
Erin Woodcock
President, School Social Workers Association of Georgia
